On this 10-hour tour, visit the incredible Stonehenge and learn more about the site’s many mysteries. See the tallest church spire in the UK during your visit to Salisbury Cathedral and check out the legendary Magna Carta, on display inside Salisbury Cathedral. You will also enjoy a complimentary Subway lunch on the bus.
Explore the first city in England to be labelled a UNESCO World Heritage site; the beautiful city of Bath. Admire the charming Georgian architecture, the 15th-century Bath Abbey and the romantic Pulteney Bridge. Also, visit the famous Roman baths and enjoy the Torch lighting Ceremony.
Your tour comes to a close at Windsor Castle which is the largest and oldest occupied castle in the world, dating back almost 900 years it is the official residence of the queen.
You will board an air-conditioned coach accompanied by an expert guide from the meeting point.
After a two-hour drive you will reach the mysterious Stonehenge, with its world-famous rocks strangely arranged in a circle on Salisbury Plain. This amazing and still somewhat incomprehensible site is believed to have been built between 3000 and 2000 BC. The prehistoric stone circle and its surroundings are a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, having recently been restored back to its original unaltered landscape.
Next, visit the Salisbury Cathedral to see the tallest church spire in the UK and enjoy the picture-perfect area surrounding the church. Check out the legendary Magna Carta that is on display inside Salisbury Cathedral, the best preserved of the four remaining copies. Apart from the Magna Carta, the cathedral also houses the world’s oldest working clock.
You will enjoy a convenient and delicious lunch pack. The lunch is served on the coach giving you more time for sightseeing.
After your lunch, you will explore the magnificent Georgian town of Bath. Developed mainly in the 18th century, it is an elegant city with beautiful Georgian buildings dotting the landscape. For six years it was home to author Jane Austen, with two of her famous novels – Persuasion and Northanger Abbey – set in Bath.
Also, visit the jaw-dropping Roman Baths and pass through the amazing doorway. The Baths date back to 40AD and still flow with water from Britain’s only natural hot spring. You will see the dazzling torch lighting ceremony as dusk falls (not available in summer) and sip Bath’s healing waters in the Pump Room.
Next, head to Windsor Castle, the official residence of the royal family for more than 900 years. See the priceless works of art lining the walls by artists such as Rembrandt and Rubens. Be sure to visit The Queen Marys Dolls House which is truly a spectacular model. It’s one of the largest, most famous and beautiful dolls houses in the world.
After your visit to Windsor Castle, you will return to London in an air-conditioned coach. You will reach London at around 8pm, with enough time to enjoy an evening in the lively capital.
