Overview

Combine 2 iconic London experiences in one morning - the Westminster area and the Changing of the Guard.

For the Changing of the Guard, your guide will help you find a prime view spot of this time-honored ritual. This world-renowned ceremony will commence at either Buckingham Palace or at Horse Guards Parade. Your guide will tell you all about the pageantry and history behind the ceremony of the Queen’s red tunic-wearing Foot Guards and their signature bearskin hats as they march with the military band or Household Calvary. Enjoy a visual and auditory experience like no other as the military band or the Household Cavalry ride upon their magnificent steeds along with the guard.

Take in classic London sites on a Westminster guided walking tour. From Big Ben to Whitehall, the Houses of Parliament to 10 Downing Street, learn the fascinating stories and history behind these sites and how they are integral to the city. Learn all about the famous members of parliament and law makers and see, from the outside, one of the world’s most spectacular churches, Westminster Abbey. For over a thousand years, this has been the site of royal coronations, regal weddings, and is the resting place of countless monarchs, poets, and famous historical figures.

Voucher information: Show your voucher on your smartphone or other device (if you'd rather print a copy - that's fine too!)

Please arrive at the meeting point 15 mins early.

Please note that due to current Covid-19 restrictions and new safety policies, all customers will be required to wear a mask on City Wonders tours. Temperature checks will also take place at tour venues; if your temperature is above 37.5°C you will unfortunately not be able to attend the tour.

Please note that if you book your tour on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday, you’ll experience the change of the Household Cavalry.

The Changing of the Guard is subject to changes in date, time and cancellation at the discretion of British authorities. Cancellation due to bad weather is not announced before the morning of the ceremony. When this occurs, customers will still see a ‘wet change’ during which the guards march but without the usual music or parade.

Please note that the changing of the guard schedule may change and on different dates we will see either footguards or horseguards.

The confirmation voucher includes the local activity operator’s contact details. They’re a nice bunch, and will happily answer any logistical questions you may have. Please give them a call at least 24 hours before your organised activity to reconfirm.
