Florence has been associated with fine art since the days of the Renaissance movement. What better way to get an insight into the art history of this age than by touring the famous Uffizi Museum, home to arguably the world’s greatest collection of renaissance art.
Your private guide will bring to life the works by famous masters such as Giotto, Botticelli, Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raffaello, Tiziano, and Caravaggio. At the end of this tour you will understand why the renaissance movement, which started in Florence, took Europe by storm.
The Uffizi Gallery was originally constructed for the city’s judiciary offices, but slowly filled with artwork owned by the rulers of the Medici family. With 1500 pieces of art in 45 rooms, the museum houses possibly the world's greatest collection of primitive and renaissance paintings.
Admire masterpieces by Giotto, Botticelli, Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raffaello, Tiziano and Caravaggio, just to name a few. Spend some time in the open-air sculpture garden of Piazza Signoria to admire the fine works on display. Your expert guide will enlighten you about the artists and their works as well as the legacy of the Medici family, the patrons of Florence.
The private guide is at your disposal for 2.5 hours in the Uffizi Gallery after which time you are free to stay and explore on your own.
Please call the local activity operator anytime between 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Saturday, atleast a day prior to the start of the tour to confirm the departure details.
