In Pre-Columbian times, Xcaret was a port and sacred site where the Maya bathed to purify their minds and bodies before sailing to the nearby island of Cozumel to worship the goddess of fertility.
Today you too can swim and snorkel in the cool lagoon, or in Xcaret’s amazing underground river, which passes through mysterious caverns and subterranean channels.
Or explore ancient Mayan sites, follow a fascinating jungle trail, marvel at the jewel-colored fish in the aquarium, enjoy the scents of the orchid museum and the colors of the butterfly pavilion, or shop till you drop in the fabulous plaza – the best shopping in the whole of Cancun.
As if that’s not enough, you’ll also be treated to a buffet dinner and a musical extravaganza, with more than 300 performers, showcasing the history and traditions of Mexico and the Mayan culture.
Your Fun Day, Dinner & Night Show At Xcaret Eco Park will be the highlight of your holiday in Cancun. At the start of your tour you will be picked up from the lobby of your hotel in Cancun or Riviera Maya and driven to Xcaret Park, arriving at around 9:00am.
Once a sacred Mayan city and port, Xcaret is now a 250-acre theme park on a lovely part of the coast. On arrival, you will be free to spend the day enjoying a whole host of fun activities.
At this incredible venue, you will find more than 40 attractions of nature and culture such as a Butterfly Pavilion, with native butterflies of the Yucatan Peninsula in their natural habitat, a colorful Coral Reef Aquarium; an authentic Mexican Cemetery with seven levels and 365 different tombs, a hacienda containing the Museum of Popular Mexican Art displaying the talented work of Mexican artists.
You can also take a walk through the Tropical Jungle Trail and discover where gum, cinnamon and vanilla and other flavorings come from. Or admire breathtaking views of Mexico and Caribbean Sea from the Rotating Scenic Tower, or shop for traditional crafts in the House of Whispers. You can also enjoy the scents and colors in the Living Museum of Orchids or snorkel in the clear waters of Xcaret’s amazing subterranean caverns.
Alternatively, you could lie back on one of the most beautiful beaches in Cancun, swim in the clear aquamarine sea that laps its shore, or snorkel and float in the cool waters of a beautiful lagoon surrounded by lush tropical vegetation.
From 6:00pm - 8:30pm you can enjoy a buffet dinner and the Mexico Spectacular Night Show. This stunning musical show takes you on a breathtaking journey through the history of Mexico since pre-Hispanic times. In a vivid display of color and pageantry you will witness an ancient ball game, Mayan culture and dress, traditional Mexican costumes and folk dances, and much more.
Your guide will tell you a time and place to meet after the show is over. You will then be driven back to your hotel.
