A tour of the Mediterranean island of Capri is a great way to relax and enjoy the beauty of Italy. The Gardens of Augustus offer incredible views of the Faraglioni, the limestone cliffs which stand alone off the coast of the island. Anacapri is also popular with tourists as here you will find Villa San Michele which houses Roman sculptures, and the Villa has beautiful panoramic views of Capri Island.
Capri’s Piazzetta is the perfect place for watching the world go by. Stroll around this picturesque square and experience the Mediterranean charm of the island. The laid-back and cosmopolitan atmosphere makes for a relaxing day and a memorable experience.
You will be picked up from outside Bar La Scogliera (Sorrento port, Marina Piccola) at 0800h (08:00am). Travel on a coach accompanied by an English-speaking guide to Naples, from where you will board a boat to cross the Bay of Naples.
On arrival on the Island visit the Villa San Michele. This was the home of Dr. Axel Munthe, the Swedish author and is built on the site of a ruined Roman villa and the shady gardens offer beautiful views of the Island. For an additional fee you can go inside the villa for further exploration and to see the beautiful gardens.
You will then travel into the cente of Capri and will be dropped off near the Piazza Umberto in the centre of the island. Often referred to as the ‘drawing room of the world’, this small square is lined with cafes, boutiques and nightclubs.
The rest of the day is at leisure. You could choose to visit the Gardens of Augustus and enjoy a breathtaking view of the Faraglioni. These stand alone cliffs are just off the coast of the island, marvel at the shimmering blue sea which surrounds them. Alternatively spend a leisurely afternoon walking around the artisan shops of Capri.
You will return to Sorrento late in the afternoon and will be dropped at the Bar Kambusa at around 1600h (4:00pm).
Please call the local activity operator at least 24 hours prior to the start of the tour to confirm the departure details.
