This comprehensive overnight stay consists of a panoramic tour of the city, FREE admission to Edinburgh Castle, accommodation in a 3-star hotel and ample time to discover Edinburgh your way.
Edinburgh is all about stunning scenery, striking architecture, iconic landmarks and fine food. This tour gives you the chance to experience everything that the city offers!
Day 1
Meet your local representative at King’s Cross Station at 6.30am, who will help with your seats in the train to Edinburgh. You will receive a welcome pack which will have all the useful information about Edinburgh that you might need during your stay. If you are travelling by first class, you will be provided snacks at your seat during the journey.
See Britain’s beautiful east coast pass you by on your journey. You will arrive in Edinburgh at 11.32am.
Once you reach Edinburgh, you will board a hop-on, hop-off open-topped bus that will take you on a panoramic tour of the city. You will see the major Edinburgh attractions including the Edinburgh Castle, the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Royal Mile and the famous canine statue of Greyfriars Bobby.
This tour also includes free admission to Edinburgh Castle, which you can visit after the panoramic tour. The 12th century castle has an important place in the history of Scotland with tales of royalty, sieges and battles. Explore the castle in its entirety and visit the spectacular Great Hall of James IV, completed in 1511. At the Great Hall, you can stand under the hammerbeam roof where eminent Scottish men were honoured by the king. See the lavish rooms of the Royal Palace which was home to Scotland’s royalty and walk through the fine rooms.
Your day comes to end when you head to your accommodation. You will be provided stay at either of the two 3-star hotels (subject to availability) – Central Edinburgh Hotel or Murrayfield Hotel.
Day 2
You will have the entire day to explore Edinburgh at leisure. Plan your own sightseeing and do as you wish. You can either enjoy some traditional haggis for lunch or learn about Scottish history at a museum.
Your return train to London from Edinburgh will be at 5.30pm. You will arrive back in London at 10.18pm.
