    This trip highlights two of the Swiss peoples' most famous traditions: chocolate and cheese. You'll enjoy a panoramic bus ride through Eastern Switzerland on your way to the Lindt Chocolate shop, where delicious chocolates await.

    After exploring the shop you'll continue on to Switzerland's Appenzell region, where you'll have the opportunity to have a cheese tasting and visit the factory where the famous Appenzeller cheese is made.

    Meeting Point

    Make your way to the Sihlquai Coach Parking (or Bus Terminal), near Zurich main train station. This bus parking can also be reached by tram / streetcar number 4 / 6 / 13. The closest tram stop is “Sihlquai / HB”.

    Please arrive at meeting point at least 15 minutes before the start time to avoid any last minute rush.

    You will be picked up in an comfortable minibus (maximum 16 guests) from the Sihlquai bus parking near Zurich Main Train Station. Accompanied by a bilingual guide speaking English and German, drive to the Lindt chocolate shop and visit their outlet store. Starting out as the chocolate pioneer in Switzerland, Lindt has developed into a modern company over the years with its finest selection of chocolate and confectionary specialities. You will have a great shopping opportunity, buying the best chocolate in the world at modest prices.

    Continue via the city of Rapperswil, well known for its medieval castle. It is popularly know as the "city of roses" for its beautiful scenery. Journey through beautiful, green Swiss landscapes into the heart of the Cheese Country, "Appenzellerland". Further on, proceed to the picturesque village of Appenzell, a canton situated in Eastern Switzerland. After the stroll, you will have about 2 ½ hours at leisure to explore the place on your own. The pedestrian zone with its beautiful facades invites you for strolling and shopping. You could take an optional trip to the Museum of Appenzell, where you can learn about the way of life in this part of Switzerland. It is a private museum that exhibits a cross-section of local history and culture. Set out on a guided walk through the village and you will come across lovely old painted houses. 

    Return by coach to Zurich.  You will be dropped back to the Sihlquai bus parking.
