Overview

Enjoy a scenic cogwheel train ride to the summit of Mount Rigi, popularly known as the ‘Queen of the Swiss Mountains’. Drive to Weggis, a genteel resort, sprouting a few palm trees and figs on the shores of Lake Lucerne.

A train ride to the top of Mount Rigi will open up a panorama of white mountain peaks to the south and east including the stunning Mount Titlis, blending seamlessly with the clear blue sky. On reaching the top, enjoy a walk through this wonderland or rent a sledge (winters).

Your downhill climb to Vitznau too will be very scenic. Board a steamer towards Lucerne and enjoy the views across the glittering expanse of water to the rolling hillsides, meadows and valleys.

Visit the sun terrace above Lake Lucerne with unique views over the snow-capped Alps and 13 lakes.

You will be picked up in an air-conditioned coach from the Sihlquai bus parking near Zurich Main Train Station. Accompanied by a multi-lingual guide , you will journey through Central Switzerland and along the Lake of the Four Cantons to the city of Lucerne. Further on, proceed to Weggis, an enchanting lake and mountain resort along Lake Lucerne. From Weggis, board a cogwheel train to the top of Mount Rigi (1800 metres). It is regarded as the oldest cogwheel rail carriage in the world. After reaching the top, stroll around and enjoy the magnificent scenery of mountain peaks including Mount Titlis and the giants of the Jungfrau region. You could even rent a sledge to explore around (only in winters). Further on, descent to Vitznau, a small village and base station for Europe’s oldest rack railway. From Vitznau, take a 55-minute steamer ride to Lucerne. It is the capital of the Canton of Lucerne and an important tourist destination due to its location on the shore of Lake Lucerne within sight of Mount Pilatus and Rigi.

From Lucerne, return by coach to Zurich. The tour ends at Sihlquai bus parking (which is near Zurich main train station).
