  • Reach Osaka station to start the Kyoto tour.

    One of the largest cities of Japan, Kyoto is a city steeped in history, culture and religion. There’s much to see and explore in Kyoto and this tour showcases much of Kyoto’s rich and fecund heritage.

    Interesting fact about Kyoto: Kyoto was the capital of Japan for over a millennium. The city was dropped from the list of target cities for the atomic bomb and escaped destruction during WWII because of its exceptional historic value.

    The places you will be covering during your Kyoto tour are:

    • Kiyomizu-dera: An independent Buddhist temple in eastern Kyoto and a UNESCO world heritage site.
    • Sanju-san-gen-do Temple: Known as the Hall of the Lotus King , the temple is famous for its one thousand " Senju Kannon" statues. Enjoy the spectacular views with the line-up of Buddhist statues.
    • Fushimi Inari Taisya Shirine (70 mins): The head shrine of the god Inari, located in Fushimi Ward. The inari shrines hosts the guardian gods for business success, family well-being, traffic safety and improvement in performing arts. One of the historical places that you have to visit when in Kyoto.
    • Drive by the To-ji: The five storey Pagoda is an architectural wonder. Pass by the Katsura river and click some memorable shots on the way.
    • Arashiyama: Visit Arashiyama, a nationally designated Historic Site and Place of Scenic Beauty. Arashiyama also refers to the mountain across the Oi River, which forms a backdrop to the district.
    • Togetsu-kyo Bridge, Sagano Bamboo Forest and Tenryu-ji Temple will also be covered by the tour. Enjoy the magnificent views, explore the beautiful traditional Japanese Garden of Tenryu-ji and learn about the famous samurai history of Togetsu-kyo.
    • Kinkaku-ji temple (Golden Temple): The top two stories of the temple are made of pure gold. A magnificent temple that should be on every traveller’s list. On the way see Nijo-jo castle and Nishi Hongan-ji temple.
