As you will wander along Sydney Harbour’s sparkling shoreline and down hidden alleyways, shady courtyards and cobbled laneways, they will bring The Rocks to life with stories of how ordinary people came to do extraordinary things that started the British Australian story.
To start your Original Rocks Walking Tour, make your way to our local activity partner's office in Clocktower Square. Here you will meet your expert guide who promises to make this an entertaining afternoon.
Some of the places you will visit are:
- The shoreline of sparkling Sydney Cove – the point where British occupation of New South Wales was officially declared.
- Cadman's Cottage – dating back to 1816 this is the oldest surviving residential building in Sydney.
- Harbour views of Sydney's Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
- Campbell's Cove – a key trading post in the 19th century.
- The Rocks historic precinct - where your guide will lead you around George Street, Rocks Square, Foundation Park, the Argyle Cut, Suez Canal and Nurses Walk.
The tour ends at Clocktower Square.
