Overview

Spend the day tasting some of the finest wines in Australia on this Hunter Valley tour and soak in picturesque views of the lush Australian countryside. Explore scenic vineyards and learn about the winemaking process whilst sampling award-winning wines.

Admire the verdant vistas of Leogate Estate, the vines of which have produced premium wines such as Chardonnay, Semillon, Shiraz, Verdelho and Tempranillo. Enjoy a delightful 2-course lunch with a specially selected assortment of wines at the Hunter Resort followed by more wine tastings at the winery owned by the McGuigan family, the respected pioneers of the industry both in Australia and overseas.

Hotel transfers from Sydney are included in the package.

Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel at the scheduled time for the Hunter Valley Wine Tasting Tour. Experience Australia’s oldest wine producing region, the picturesque Hunter Valley. Travel over the Sydney Harbour Bridge before being treated to magnificent views of the Hawkesbury River and Australian countryside. Visit the opulent surrounds of Leogate Estate as you taste their award-winning varietals and take in the views of the Brokenback Ranges. Next you will visit Hunter Valley Resort where you can walk amongst the vineyards and learn about the wine making process. Enjoy a delicious lunch made with local produce while you sample some of the area’s best wines and after lunch have the chance to purchase (own expense) a beer tasting paddle from the onsite Brewery. Spend the afternoon at the award-winning McGuigans Winery where you will take part in a private group tasting and visit the cellar door where you can purchase a bottle or two to take home. Finish the day at the Hunter Valley Chocolate Company and sample their locally made chocolates and fudge and see the onsite production room.

At the end of the tour, you will be dropped to your Sydney hotel.

Each guest is permitted one medium size suitcase per person, the sum of its length/width and depth must not exceed 140cm (56”) plus one piece of hand luggage which may be carried on-board the coach. Maximum weight of all luggage must not exceed 20kg (44lbs).

New Menu consist of 5 mains with homemade breads, a glass of wine, or soft drink. You will then be invited to have a wine tasting at the cellar door.
