Overview

The perfect introduction to Australia for a true wandervogel is through a day of contrasts that is ripe and waiting in the unique township of New Norcia. Discover one of Australia's only Benedictine Abbeys still inhabited and worked by the monks today. Walk amongst the eerie Pinnacles in the Nambung National Park, experience the white sand and blue waters of Cervantes, understand a wildflower farm and see clean green electricity.

Flora enthusiasts get a kick out of this particular tour because during the wildflower season, roadside stops will be made to view native wildflowers. If you’re lucky you get to see Kangaroo Paw, Banksia and Christmas Tree plants flowering. Listen to a brief talk at the Western Wildflower Farm about the export of dried wildflowers and witness the remarkable colours of Ronsard Bay.

Continue exploring the town with a visit to the Museum and Art Gallery and inspect the walls constructed of hand-made bricks. At Cervantes dip your toe in the Indian Ocean and take a short walk on the pristine white sand beach. Enjoy a guided walk amongst the limestone pillars of the Pinnacles desert and explore up close these amazing limestone formations.
