Falling somewhere between hands-on and demonstrative, this class breaks down the craft behind the country’s most beloved pastry. Learn how the greats make the perfect, flaky croissant from a master chef, considered one of the best in the breakfast pastry business (he has the awards to prove it) and munch on the best croissant in Paris. Hungry for more? We don’t blame you. During the class you’ll also learn the key steps to making pain au chocolat, apple tart, and four different baguettes.

    Enter the professional kitchen of a popular Parisian bakery. Over the next two hours, a French chef is going to let you in on a little secret. A few little secrets, actually.

    Through demonstrations and hands-on trial and error, you’ll learn the techniques, top tips, and equipment needed to create beautiful French pastries. Along the way your chef will run you through the essentials: working with different flours, baking at the right temperature, decorating the dough (it’s more difficult than it sounds), the tricky butter vs. dough ratio in croissants, resting the dough mix, operating the machinery, and rolling, kneading & shaping to create different pastries.  

    All in all, you’ll learn how to make a killer croissant, heavenly pain au chocolat, granny-approved apple tart and some not-so-humble baguettes. Finally, it’s time to eat. You’ll nibble (okay, scoff) one of the best croissants in Paris. Your tour ends on this culinary high. Lose the apron and get back to sightseeing, pronto.
