Our tips for Audubon Zoo and Aquarium

Comfortable walking shoes: There’s a lot of ground to cover so strap on a pair of comfy walking shoes and get going! Swamp train: Don’t forget to hop on the Swamp Train for a narrated journey that covers the swamp exhibit, sea lions, reptile encounter and African Savanna. Grab a bite: Refuel at the Zoofari Café and the Cypress Knee Café (located in the Louisiana Swamp exhibit). You could pack some picnic lunch for your day at the zoo as well, but do enjoy a savory meal at one of the cafes on the zoo premises.

Good to know

Visit the zoo on weekday afternoons to enjoy the experience at a leisurely pace. It can take anytime between 2-6 hours to explore the entire zoo so try to be at the gates as soon as the zoo opens. There is a spring bloom for honeybees from early March through summer so that is a great time to visit.
