Overview

The Jungle Island Experience is a tour for those who want to get up close and with rare animals from around the world, found in the rainforest of the theme park.

Located between Downtown Miami and South Beach, Jungle Island is one of Florida’s first theme parks. The zoological park features exotic wildlife especially birds from around the world.

Jungle Island was established in 1936 with the objective of creating a natural environment where birds can fly freely. This tradition is maintained even today with beautiful, colourful birds spreading their wings in the tropical blue Miami sky.

Itinerary

Make your own way to Jungle Island and go deep in the rainforest of the theme park with the exciting Jungle Island Experience.

Established in 1936 as Parrot Jungle, it was created as a place where birds could fly free. The tradition still continues at the new location of the park on Watson Island. Parrots, peacocks, cockatoos and flamingos fly, dip and dive within the green jungle. It is the home of more than 300 birds in a rainbow of colours.

Watch the popular Winged Wonders show, in which birds like Andean condor and macaws, will sing and dance. Beware the Oceania-native cassowary which has an incredible 11-foot wingspan and is the world’s most dangerous bird. Experience the animal kingdom during Dr. Wasabi’s Wild Adventures. Here you will see a variety of animals ranging from an alligator snapping turtle to baby Hamadryas baboons.

Roam through the park trails to explore endless exhibits. You will witness animals that seem to have stepped out of a 1950s sci-fi movie. The world’s largest cat will blow your mind, while the rare twin orangutans will show you the striking similarities between humans and apes.
