Your Cape Point Bike Tour and Winelands Combo adventure begins when you are picked up at your hotel. You will be taken to pick up your bike and safety gear; then for over 7 hours, you’ll enjoy the many delights of the dramatic peninsula where Africa comes to an end.
Depart Cape Town and pedal to Cape Point. Along the way, you’ll stop at Boulders Beach to see the colony of African penguins.
Arrive at Cape Point, a nature reserve within the Table Mountain National Park. This Natural World Heritage Site is a nature enthusiast’s paradise, abounding with buck, baboons and Cape Mountain Zebra, as well as over 250 species of birds. The natural vegetation of the area comprises the smallest but richest of the world's six floral kingdoms. Here, you’ll cycle along a choice of beautiful routes taking in the flora, fauna and coastal views.
You’ll learn the rich maritime history of Cape Point, dubbed in 1488 as the “Cape of Storms”, and feared by sailors for centuries. You’ll also see the first lighthouse, built in 1859, which is now used as a central monitoring point for all the lighthouses on the coast of South Africa.
After pedalling along the coast, you’ll cross the peninsula to reach a deserted beach where you’ll have a picnic lunch. After lunch, you leave Cape Point and head for a wine tasting at Constantia Uitsig wine farm, famed for its variety of red and white wines.
You’ll then indulge in wine tasting at Groot Constantia. Established in 1685, Groot Constantia is the oldest wine estate in South Africa and is famous for its red wines. This fully operational farm is one of South Africa’s most visited tourist attractions, with a wide range of quality estate wines and a variety of other attractions, including restaurants and museums, to make your visit an unforgettable experience.
After your exhilarating day, you’ll be driven back to your hotel in Cape Town. Here your tour concludes and you are free to enjoy the evening at your leisure.
