    Take a walk on the wild side when you encounter some of Africa’s most spectacular animals! Set in the Southern Karoo Highlands against a backdrop of dramatic mountains, the Aquila Private Game Reserve is just two short hours from Cape Town by road.

    On a fascinating game drive, you’ll see, lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and many more magnificent creatures!

    You’ll also see the many migratory birds that stop off at Aquila’s wetland on their travels.

    At the Animal Rescue Center, you’ll see cheetahs and learn about Aquila’s mission to help save this gorgeous big cat from extinction.

    You’ll stand in awe of the centuries old Khoi-San rock art, detailed paintings done by shamans!

    Enjoy a fabulous buffet lunch, African style, under a thatched boma before departing for Cape Town.

    Your exhilarating Full Day Aquila Wildlife Safari Tour adventure begins when you are met at your hotel by the driver. You will then be taken to the Aquila Private Game Reserve.After enjoying welcome drinks in the reception area, you’ll set off on a 2 ½ hour safari.

    Led by an experienced ranger, you’ll learn fascinating facts about your surroundings. You’ll see the Big Five of Africa’s wild animals – elephants, rhinos, lions, buffaloes and leopards – as well as giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, antelope, baboons, jackals, bat-eared foxes, hippos and crocodiles. There are also several migratory birds that make a stop at Aquila’s own wetland.

    At the ARC (Animal Rescue Center), you’ll learn about the cheetahs of the region.With its breeding program, ARC is ensuring worldwide survival of the cheetah.

    You’ll also see ancient Khoi-San rock art. The Khoi-San people were the original inhabitants of much of southern Africa. These detailed paintings, made by their spiritual leaders,are crucial to understanding southern Africa’s history.

    A delicious buffet lunch under the boma, a thatched roof structure with open sides, awaits you after your safari.

    After enjoying time in Aquila,you’ll be driven back to your hotel in Cape Town and dropped at the point where you were picked up. Alternative drop-off points can be arranged but extra charges might apply.

      Very nicely organized and fun safari. The only downside is that the animals in the reserve aren't truely wild, but are maintained as if in a giant zoo....
