Overview

Don your chef hat and pull up your sleeves to master Singaporean culinary delights. We invite you to a fun cooking session where you will learn to make Chicken Rice and Chilli Crab Sauce as well as the popular Singaporean dessert, Ondeh Ondeh.

Your host for the day will welcome you to her kitchen where all the ingredients are set and kitchen tools placed on the table. The session starts with the chicken as the host teaches you the technique of making the meat succulent and tender. Follow her and you will soon be an expert. Then next comes the yummy rice balls. Roll it to perfection until it turns out to be the best companion to your chicken. Listen carefully to your host, as she spills some secret tips and tricks (you will need it when you impress your family and friends back home with your newfound cooking skills). Subsequently you will prepare the chilli and ginger sauces for the crab sauce.

Finally, comes your Julia Child moment – the dessert! The locals love it and you will too when you stuff those sweet potato with palm sugar (locally called gula Melaka) and coat it with desiccated coconut. Learn the art of Ondeh Ondeh from scratch. We are already salivating!

After all the hard work, it will be time to dig in to the meal. Savour each bite with your cooking buddies – this is definitely going to make you day!

About the Supplier: The Baking Loft promises fun cooking sessions in Singapore and sharing tips and tricks of Singaporean cooking with its participants. The sessions are intimate and personalized with an opportunity to interact with the host and the group members. Food enthusiasts and chefs will simply love this experience!
