Overview

Take a stroll through American history on a San Diego Balboa Park Daytrip!

Discover one of America’s oldest parks and a true cultural hub with San Diego Balboa Park Daytrip tickets! Balboa Park seems to have something for everyone. Whether you are a nature enthusiast, art-lover, or history buff, Balboa Park is sure to please. Named after the Spanish maritime explorer Vasco Núñez de Balboa, the park has beautiful gardens, theaters, Spanish-inspired architecture, wide-open spaces, museums, and much more! Since 1977, it has rightfully maintained its title as a National Historic Landmark and represents a must-see attraction during any San Diego vacation.

You will appropriately kick off your tour at the Founder’s statues on the west side of the park. Then, meander towards the famous California Tower, built in commemoration of the 1915 Panama-California Exposition. The tower dominates the sky from any vantage point within the park as you continue your San Diego sightseeing tour. After learning about the history of the tower and its significance, you will over to the beautiful Alcazar Garden, a reproduction of the gardens found at the Alcázar Palace in Seville.

Then, after enjoying a complimentary beverage at a local coffee cart, stop by the Old Globe Theater, a recreation of Shakespeare’s theater in London. Walk through the heart of the Prado and the Zoro Gardens! Watch artists create new masterpieces at the Spanish Village Art Center. Finally, check out the Botanical Building which houses 2,100 plants and a tranquil lily pond full of koi! Your San Diego Balboa Park Daytrip will end at the wide-open Plaza de Panama. Before you depart, your friendly and helpful guide will suggest other places to visit and give directions to the nearby Visitor Center. And, that’s why the Balboa Park Daytrip is what to do in San Diego!
