This completely inclusive and detailed 5-hour adventure takes you to the musical’s renowned filming sites around Salzburg where our expert guide gives informative insight into the history and background of Salzburg’s major attractions and architecture. Thereafter partake in a delicious 3-course meal at s’Herzl, a famous Austrian restaurant that was often visited by Julie Andrews and other artists and musicians.
Itinerary
The tour begins at Mirabellplatz’s Panorama Tours Bus Terminal where you board the coach and embark on a musical adventure.
Our expert guide takes you through all the original film settings of the Trapp family where you can enjoy the stunning views of Salzburg city and tour the picturesque filming locations of The Sound of Music. Discover your inner Julie Andrews and glide through the picture perfect fields of Salzburg.
The cherry on this Oscar winning cake is indeed the 3-course meal at s'Herzl, a restaurant as old as Mozart's music itself. Serving traditional delicacies since 1767, s'Herzl is strategically located in the heart of the Salzburg city. With its authentic Austrian cuisine and traditional folkloric ambience, this charming country inn styled restaurant is a must visit. s'Herzl is visited by renowned artists and musicians including Leonard Bernstein, Herbert von Karjan, Christopher Plummer and the lovely Julie Andrews herself.
The special offer combines the Original Sound of Music Tour with a delectable 3-course meal at s'Herzl. Start with some clear soup and cream coloured ponies. Follow up with the famous schnitzel with noodles, a favourite for locals and tourists alike. And finally, allow the sweet crisp apple strudel to envelop your palate.
