Explore pure Icelandic beauty in the Snaefellsnes Peninsula with your English-speaking guide. Enjoy a getaway to the magnificent Snaefellsnes Peninsula with pick-up and drop-off to your Reykjavik hotel included in the package. Travel in a luxurious coach to Snaefellsnes National Park, home to some of the best locales in Iceland like the quaint fishing villages of Grundarfjordur, Arnarstapi and Hellnar, mountains and volcanic craters like the Kirkjufell and Ljósufjöll. Grab this chance to visit the iconic black beaches at Djúpalónssandur and the famous Snæfellsjökull glacier!
You will be picked up from your accommodation in Reykjavik at the scheduled time. Meet your friendly guide for the day on the bus and get to know about all the fascinating places you’ll be visiting. Enjoy the passing view as you head towards Snæfellsnes Peninsula.
Visit the most charming fishing villages of Grundarfjordur in the north, Arnarstapi in the south and Hellnar in the west. Where Grundarfjordur promises to give you jaw-dropping views of a city rising amidst a spectacular view of the Kirkjufell Mountain, the south and west villages of Arnarstapi and Hellnar bring you near the mighty seaside and cliffs, a Natural Reserve since 1979. Enjoy exploring the different lava formations and observing the rare flock of arctic terns visiting the city.
If mountains are your calling, then this guided tour will get you a closer look at Iceland’s most photographed mount, Kirkjufell. This 463-meter high spectacle is situated near the sea with a walking trail to be explored and probably a challenging climb for the more daring! You’ll also be visiting Ljósufjöll - a system of basaltic cinder mountains that are fissure vents for volcanic eruptions, running 90 kilometres long!
Brace yourself for the beauty of the black beach at Djúpalónssandur. This southern tip is famous for its stunning rock structures and black pebbles brought ashore by the sea. From south head towards the west to see the majestic Snæfellsjökull glacier. An active volcano standing 1446 meters high, this wonder was the muse behind Jules Verne’s Journey to the Center of the Earth.
The Snæfellsnes peninsular area is a vibrant cauldron of many amazing sights that are fitted into this one diverse expanse! Turned into a National Park because of its extraordinary natural beauty, in this tour you’ll be experiencing the raw Icelandic beauty in all its glory over an 11-hour journey.
After the tour, you will be dropped back to your accommodation in Reykjavik.
Please call the local activity operator at least 24 hours prior to the tour start time to confirm all departure details.
