Iceland is beautiful, Iceland is serene and Iceland is a land of fire, ice and sauna baths! And here is something that allows you to experience it all.
Get picked up from your Reykjavik hotel and start out on a Nordic excursion to our first destination - Kerið volcanic crater. Stand above the 3000-year-old, 55-metre deep crater filled with aquamarine waters and surrounded by red volcanic rocks, some covered in green moss. Due to its perfect cauldron-like formation, Kerið is unique among the several crater lakes that you find in the country’s Western Volcanic Zone. Go close to it and you will know its immense size. It truly makes you feel small!
Kerið is located on the Golden Circle route and sets you off on a journey to see the unique natural wonders that comes along the way. Like the Gullfoss waterfall where the wide Hvita River plunges furiously over a natural staircase of stones. And the ‘Great Geysir’ area, home to Stokkur that hurls boiling water towards the sky every 5-10 minutes.
Your last stop on this route will be Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the junction where the tectonic plates of America and Eurasia are slowly drifting apart from each other. It is also famous for being the place of Iceland’s parliament since the 10th century.
From drifting tectonic plates to driving away from the Golden Circle and taking you to the steaming waters of the Blue Lagoon. Pre-book your bathing experience as you will be on your own here, relaxing in the geothermal waters. After two hours at the lagoon, it will be time to head back to your hotel in Reykjavik.
