Overview

There’s something about Sicily that leaves every single visitor charmed off their pants. Sicilian food is no different and this Taste of Sicily Food Tour in Palermo will leave your tastebuds drenched in a carnival of flavours with an abundance of offbeat delicacies and extras like a three-wheeler Ape car ride!

A vast array of cultures have left their footprints in Sicily - Greeks, Romans, Carthaginians, Byzantines, Normans, Arabs, Spaniards. A rich cultural heritage is clearly reflected in Sicilian cuisine, making it a crowd favourite. A culinary trail is like a multi-course meal, letting you experience a new location through its food and witnessing a real picture of its society. Kicking off with a sparkling prosecco, we will head to Teatro Massimo, one of the most breathtaking opera houses in the world, doused in rich shades of red and gold with a painted ceiling whose grandeur seems to just drip off it.

We will sample the best freshly prepared arancini rice balls in Palermo and hop onto an iconic Ape car that escorts us to the next surprise stop. This cult 3-wheeler is as Italian as pasta and wine, and is synonymous with the country. Palermo’s most famous snack - pani ca meusa - simmers away in a gigantic pot nestled in an ancient focacceria, waiting to blow our minds with utter deliciousness. Our exquisite sojourn also includes a lemonade with an explosion of flavours, an assortment of delicacies from cheese-expert Andre, snacking on regional specialties cedro lemons or zucchini bolliti (boiled zucchini), indulging in Sicilian decadence like the Cassata tartlet and much, much more.

Don’t think, just head out on one of the most delectable journeys of your life!
