Munich was the birthplace of the Nazi Party, its beer halls provided the early meeting places for the party faithful and the ideologies of Adolf Hitler were first heard in the city’s squares and streets. Set out on a walking tour in Munich and see the surviving major buildings and sites associated with the rise of the Nazi movement.
Accompanied by an English-speaking guide, you will visit the surviving buildings and sites associated with the rise of the Nazi movement in Munich (the birthplace of the party and Adolf Hitler’s political base). The highlights of the tour are:
• The building where Hitler joined the party.
• The Hofbräuhaus beer hall where he made his early speeches.
• The site of his failed putsch of 1923.
• His headquarters
• Nazi ceremonial and marching grounds
• Examples of Nazi architecture
• The launch-point of major anti-Semitic persecutions
• Memorials to the victims of Nazism
The guide will give a presentation on the origins and rise of Nazism in Munich and its terrible consequences.
The finishing point of your tour is Königsplatz, a short walk from the Munich Central Train Station.
