Imagine walking among the city’s inhabitants, navigating cramped passages and crowded apartments in the ghetto, discovering weapons in resistance house and experience the nightmare of being imprisoned and interrogated.
Visit the photographer’s shop, board a tram and take in views from the windows; explore a typical Jewish apartment in the Ghetto. Once persecuted by a ruthless enemy, you will finally experience the bittersweet relief of liberation by the Soviet Army.
Browse documentary photographs, eyewitness accounts, film documentaries and multimedia shows, designed to create a chronological vision of Krakow’s history. You can see how the war destroyed lives of individuals and of masses. Everyday objects such as photographs, newspapers and personal artifacts that immortalize life in the city occupied by Nazis.
