  • Overview & Itinerary

Komodo Island is a hilly, desolate yet beautiful island sandwiched between Flores and Sumbawa and the big attraction here is gargantuan lizards – 3-metre, 100-kilogram monsters, knows as ‘Ora’ to the locals and ‘Komodo Dragons’ to westerners. Why they exist only on or around Komodo Island is a mystery! The island is surrounded by some of the most tempestuous waters in Indonesia, marked by riptides and whirlpools.

The Komodo National Park has some of the best diving spots in Nusa Tenggara and you could snorkel at Pantai Merah (Pink Beach). If you are lucky, you could spot young dragons on trees. Enjoy the beautiful sunset from your hotel as you end this tour of Komodo Island and return with memories of the majestic ‘Ora’.

At 6:00am depart for Komodo island. This trip over blue tropical waters and past hundreds of small island will take approximately 4 hours. On our visit to Komodo island we make a walk (1 hour) with a local ranger in search of the Komodo dragons. During your visit also wild buffalo, deer, pigs and various species of tropical birds like the Cockatoo can be seen.

At Pink Beach lunch and time to discover the splendid underwater world of these rich waters (snorkels and fins are provided).
