Overview
Recreate the last days of García Lorca and travel to places where his life came to an end. Uncover the causes and events leading to this universal poet’s death as you travel to the middle of the stunning landscapes of the Sierra de Huétor.
Visit the city of Granada, Lorca’s home and muse, and the place where he was arrested on August 16, 1936. Explore the villages of Víznar and Alfacar, located near the mountain range, alongside water channels and ancient irrigation ditches passed down from ancestral times.
Your private knowledgeable guide will tell you about the circumstances surrounding Lorca’s death, the Spanish Civil War and the significance of the poet in the collective memory of Spanish society and Granada. See the place where he spent his last night, the mass graves of those shot during the Civil War, a park dedicated to the poet and the site where he is believed to have been shot early on the morning of August 18, 1936.
The tour ends in the village of Alfacar, next to the Fuente de las Lagrimas, from where you will be taken back to the city center of Granada.
