Our tips for Hop On Hop Off

  • Stay hydrated: Make it a point to keep yourself hydrated. Carry water with you wherever you go. Dubai as a city is not suitable for walking and so it’s just as well that your Dubai hop on hop off will take you from one attraction to another in a comfortable air-conditioned environment. When heading out, keep your head covered and wear sunscreen and sunglasses during the day. Explore beyond the skyscrapers: See beyond the glitter and gold. Dubai is a city that’s rich in history and culture. To enjoy the real taste of the Middle East, visit the spice and gold souqs around the Dubai Creek. Gold is relatively cheaper so make sure you drop by the gold souq if you wish to buy some.
  • Plan well: Your tickets cover the best in the city. Metros and ferries are cheaper than buses but buses have greater connectivity. Focus on seeing a certain part of the city in one day for better coverage. For example, you could hop off at a stop and then spend time exploring, eating out and visiting attractions in the area.

Good to know

Best time to visit
Weather-wise, the best time for a Dubai hop on hop off - Bus tour is between November and March. This is also peak season, so expect some crowds. One of the benefits of arriving in the city during this time is that you can take part in some exciting festivals. Check out the International Film Festival and the Shopping Festival. The heat is scorching from April to October. Triple-digits temperatures plus high humidity sends many of the foreigners packing. However, you can get a slight better value for your accommodations during the off-season; but, not much.
Getting there
You can board the bus at any of the stops along the route. Just show your smartphone voucher to the driver. Major stops can be found at The Dubai Mall, Dubai Museum, and Heritage Village, among others. Please keep in mind that some stops are new and have yet to be clearly demarcated. Don't be shy. Feel free to ask around if you aren't sure that you are in the right place.
