Overview

Explore the spiritual quarter of Delhi that you would not see on normal tourist routes. Pedal your way through the busy streets and go back in time through a city of mystics, saints, poets, rebels, forgotten kings, English ladies, refugee colonies and nameless tombs. Nizamuddin is a 700-year-old settlement and is known for the spiritual saint Nizamuddin Auliya who resided here. Today, it presents a contrasting image of an urban village with narrow alleys and an upscale neighbourhood right next to it.

Follow the guide as he shares interesting legends and anecdotes from this part of the Indian capital and take you on a 15-km trail that reflects the periods when Delhi was ruled by the Sultans, Mughals and the British and shows you some of Delhi’s top attractions.

Here’s the plan…

Your Nizamuddin cycle tour begins from the parking area of the historic Humayun’s Tomb. The route that you will follow is:

  • Nizamuddin Sufi village
  • Humayun’s Tomb
  • Hope Project (an NGO that supports the local community of Nizamuddin in healthcare and education) including rooftop view
  • Nehru Stadium
  • Kotla Mubarakpur village
  • Lodi Garden (breakfast stop)
  • Khan Market
  • Golf Links

Old Delhi roads are mostly chaotic but you will be guided safely by your guide, making your cycling experience smooth and comfortable.
