For over 130 years, Torres has been recognized as one of the world leaders in the production and export of quality wines. It is set in the heart of the Penedes hills surrounded by vineyards. Explore the underground ageing cellars containing thousands of oak barrels, travel by train around the vineyard and visit the modern wine making facilities.
After that you will visit, Codorníu, the world's oldest and second-largest producer of bottle-fermented sparkling wine, known as cava, made by the traditional champagne method. Explore the huge underground cellars, the beautiful gardens and the stunning buildings designed by the Art Nouveau architect Puig and Cadafalch.
This 8 hour tour is a pleasure for wine enthusiasts and connoisseurs. You will get the opportunity to taste special varieties of wine. You will also learn the history and the wine-making process from your expert guide who will explain some of the secrets of making fine wines.

Start your tour with Jean Leon’s Wine Cellars, a small boutique cellars that belongs to the Torres Group. You will learn the amazing life of Jean Leon and the process of elaboration of his wines with a video presentation. Visit the museum, garden of the varieties cellar and the underground cave to discover all about wine. You will end the tour with an exclusive tasting of one of the single vineyard wines with snacks.
Next, you will visit the spectacular main Torres’s Wine Cellars for a unique and exclusive experience. The visit will start with the history of the Torres family, continuing with the life cycle of the vine plant with a multimedia presentation.
After that you will take a train tour through the Mas la Plana vineyard and see the entire production plant. You will enjoy a multisensory visit, an exciting journey back in time that will show the best kept secrets of wine-making from its very origins and give a chance to survey the barrels that hold the estate wines.
The cellars and vineyard garden demonstrate the many different varieties and the pruning methods. You can learn and live the cycle of vineyard. The tour is adapted to the different seasons of the year:
Spring: Budding and flowering of the vines according to the different varieties, non-pesticide protection, growth of branches and leaves, blooming and early formation of the grapes.
Summer: Continued vegetative growth, ripening of the grapes, and yeast formation on skins of grapes.
Autumn: Explanation of the different grape varietals’ harvest (early and late ripening grapes), wine production subzones, harvest methods and grape tasting.
After this experience you will enjoy tasting of two wines, and a delicious brunch with another glass of wine.
In the afternoon you will visit the Codorníu Cava vineyards. Codorníu is the oldest family company in Spain and one of the oldest in the world, with more than 450 years of history.
Accompanied by your English speaking guide, you will explore the huge underground cellars, the beautiful gardens and the stunning buildings designed by the Art Nouveau architect Puig and Cadafalch. You will learn about the history and production of their famous sparkling white wines.
After your 8 hour tour, you will board your salon bus and return to Barcelona.
