Housed in a lavishly decorated Thai pavilion, originating from Northern Thailand, the restaurant is also the setting for one of the kingdom's unique cultural experiences - classical Thai dancing, performed by dancers from Bangkok's Department of Fine Arts, beside your table. The one-hour show includes royal dances of the Sukhothai and Ayutthaya periods, as well as various folk dances.
For getting a true flavour of the Thai dining culture, an evening at the Sala Rim Nam restaurant is a must.
Get picked up from your hotel/directly from the airport in Bangkok and travel in a private air-conditioned vehicle to experience fine Thai dining and classical dance at the renowned Sala Rim Nam restaurant, located on the banks of the Chao Phraya river.
To reach this elegant dining room you will be ferried across the Chao Phraya River in a boat from the Oriental Hotel. Sala Rim Nam is one of the best places to sample royal Thai cuisine, elaborate dishes once served only to the king and his family.
During the day it serves buffet lunch and at night it serves a set-menu or a la carte menu at its Terrace Rim Nam. In a true Thai tradition, you will be asked to remove your shoes before entering. You will be seated on pillows at low tables in the glittering, bronze-trimmed, teak and marble main hall, and dine on finely crafted Thai dishes.
In the evening, classical dancers from Bangkok's Department of Fine Arts perform a one-hour show of royal dances of the Sukhothai and Ayutthaya periods, as well as various folk dances.

The food was excellent and the show was awesome. We had to take a taxi by ourselves because the pick up timing from the isango page vs. the local tour was different....MAYELA MARQUEZ SANCHEZ, Malaysia, 16/Oct/2013
