Experience the quieter side of Bangkok as you venture out to the green getaway of Ko-Kret Island and enjoy soothing rural views and activities. Kickstart your day at Bang Chak Temple (Wat Bang Chak) in Nonthaburi on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. Behold the temple's large Buddha image that looks out across the river!

Thereafter board the cross-river ferry that leaves from Wat Bang Chak and venture into KohKret as you cruise through the tiny hamlets and stopping for a cool drink as the mood strikes. Before you know it, it will be time for a delicious lunch at Ko-Kret Island where you indulge in local dishes like kanomjeen, fermented rice noodles eaten with a variety of different curries, and a rice dish known as kowchaa!

Post a tasty lunch, hop back on the cross-river ferry to Wat Bang Chak and head to the WatSuanKaeo which is a center for the promotion of Buddhist practices and knowledge.
