Itinerary

Day 1:

You will be picked up from your hotel in Uluru in the afternoon at the scheduled time and taken for a tour of the base of Uluru, a massive red stone monolith, also known as Ayers Rock. Uluru holds a sacred place in indigenous culture and has special religious significance to the local Anangu Aboriginal community. Listen to enlightening commentary from your friendly guide on the numerous sacred sites and the geographical features of Uluru.

Continue by coach to the Kuniya Walk where your driver guide will escort you to the beautiful Mutitjulu Waterhole. Spend time studying Aboriginal rock paintings and learn about the native flora and the Aboriginal and European history of Uluru.

You will be paying a visit to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, where you can learn about Aboriginal culture and shop for unique handcrafted Aboriginal arts and crafts to take back home as souvenirs. You will next be taken to the Uluru sunset viewing area for one of the main highlights of the tour. Enjoy the mesmerising sight of the sun setting on Uluru as the famous monolith dramatically changes color.

You will be sipping on a glass of wine and enjoying canapés as you experience nature at its most spectacular.

Retire to your hotel for the night after a day of active sightseeing. There are three types of accommodations to choose from, depending on your budget. These are:
• Standard room in Outback Pioneer Hotel (budget)
• Standard room in Desert Gardens Hotel (standard)
• Superior room in Sails in the Desert (superior)

Day 2:

Travel to Kings Canyon, stopping for a sumptuous breakfast at Kings Creek Station along the way. You will be hiking to the rim of the canyon for jaw-dropping views of Watarrka National Park.

Follow the rim of the canyon and look down into the canyon gorge from dizzying look-out points. Time permitting, you may choose to descend into the green oasis of the 'Garden of Eden'. This 3-hour hike is a challenging one and it is recommended that you have good fitness levels to try it. You can also opt for a shorter walk to explore the boulder strewn canyon floor. Enjoy lunch (not included in the package) before returning to your hotel for the evening.

Day 3:

You will be travelling to the Uluru sunrise viewing area early in the morning to enjoy the most spectacular views of the sun rising and Uluru changing colours as the sun’s rays shifts across it. Sip on your morning cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate as you enjoy this unique experience that makes a visit to Uluru an absolute must-do.

Travel to the mystical 36 domes of Kata Tjuta, spread over an area of more than 20 kms. The sandstone domes of Kata Tjuta are believed to be around 500 million years old. Take in sweeping views of the southern side of Kata Tjuta before arriving at the base of Walpa Gorge. Spend some time exploring the gorge and the unusual conglomerate rock formations. The walking trail through Walpa Gorge follows the natural creek between two of the tallest domes of Kata Tjuta.

In the afternoon, you will be dropped off to Uluru.
