Overview

Starting from Stortorget, or "The Main Square" in the Old Town (Gamla stan in Swedish), you will set out on a guided walk, diving into the history of the city. After exploring the hidden gems of the Old Town, board a public ferry for a short sailing between the islands and across the harbour to the island of Djurgården, where another treasure awaits. We are of course speaking about one of the most visited museums in the country, The Vasa Museum.

What is the Vasa Museum you ask? It is home to the world's oldest, most well-preserved ship (not to mention most impressive, in our opinion!) – the grand warship “Vasa.” Thinking about the Vikings? Think again! This beauty was built in the 1600s, during a time when the Swedish Empire was the force to be reckoned with in Northern Europe! Feel like one of the distinguished guests invited to the maiden voyage as we skip the line at the Vasa Museum. Not only is the Vasa an artistic masterpiece, but she also has a fabulous story which we will share with you in the museum. Before we end the tour inside and let you go explore on your own, we will give you the “lay of the land” and clue you into some of the top sights to see at the Vasa Museum.

If you’re looking for an all-in-one experience during your visit to Stockholm, then our Stockholm Must-Sees tour is the tour for you! Ship Ahoy, let’s go!

Others

‘Paradise is but a hop, skip & short sail away’ The smell of sausages sizzling on a barbecue, the warmth of sun-baked rock under bare feet and the comforting awareness of your own seclusion don’t tend to be sensations commonly associated with Sweden’s vibrant and buzzing capital city. But this will always be Stockholm to … Continue reading "Stockholm: Island Hopping The ‘Venice of the North’"
