Meet the gentle reindeer on which the local economy depends and have a chance to drive a reindeer sleigh after coaching from an expert. When you pass your reindeer driving test, you will be issued with an international reindeer licence.
When you have mastered the reindeer sleigh, try its modern equivalent - the snowmobile. Adults and children can try the exhilarating thrill of driving snowmobiles (skidoos) across the crisp white landscape.
The exciting Reindeer Farm Visit and Sleigh Ride in Lapland begins at Koskikatu 1, 96200 Rovaniemi. Board your vehicle and set out with your English speaking guide.
During your excursion you will cross the Arctic Circle, the line of latitude north of which the sun does not rise on the winter solstice or set on the summer solstice. You will receive a Diploma to record your journey over the Arctic Circle.
You will visit a reindeer farm and learn about Sami reindeer herding. This has been a part of local culture since the 17th century. The animals provide not only food and clothing for their owners but also transport.
