Ride a reindeer sleigh in Santa’s hometown on a Rovaniemi Grand Tour!
Where do you go for a winter vacation? To the official hometown of Santa Claus, of course! Santa’s Village is real and it is found right on the border of the Arctic Circle. With the Northern Lights, pristine snow, and powerful reindeer, it’s truly a magical place! And, Arktikum is a science centre and museum which has chronicled the local history of the people, animals, and daily life in the Arctic. Learn all about the Arctic while you’re there. Then, the Arctic Snowmobile Museum is a collection representing the Finnish people’s favorite pastime: Riding snowmobiles. Snowmobiles can be used both for recreational sport and as a quick way to get from Point A to Point B on the snow. And, the Arctic Snowmobile Museum consists of more than 100 snowmobiles, mostly from the 1960s and 1970s.
Start off by climbing to the top of the Ounasvaara Hill to catch a breath-taking, panoramic view of this winter wonderland. Then, we will head over to Arktikum to learn about the history of the Arctic region. Next, we’ll gear up for a ride on a sled pulled by hardworking huskies! Your husky sled ride will be followed by a reindeer sleigh ride, too! Top off your grand tour of the Arctic with a visit to the Santa’s Village in Rovaniemi! Meet Santa Claus in the comforts of his home office and receive a certificate for crossing the Arctic Circle! There are many shops you can explore in Santa’s Village and you can even send a postcard from Santa’s Village’s Main Post Office! It’s what to do in Finland!
