The mid-17th century classical gem, the Vaux the Vicomte, is the château that inspired King Louis XIV to build Versailles. Enjoy informative audio commentary as you discover Nicolas Fouquet’s private apartments, the state rooms, and the château's great kitchens and vaulted cellars. The commentaries come with 3D sound that give your experience a whole new dimension.
For the second leg of the tour, journey into the heart of the forest of Fontainebleau. Journey time between the two châteaux is approximately 45 minutes. A UNESCO World Heritage Site whose history dates to the 12th century, the castle was one of the residences of the rulers of France from the reigns of Francis I to Napoleon III. Study the Mediaeval, Renaissance, and classical influences on the château's history and construction, marked by the stay of several kings.
