The tour ends at the Paris Flea Market
Welcome to the world’s largest flea market! For bargain hunters, antique lovers and fans of vintage, the area of 15 markets with over 2,000 shops is the ultimate treasure trove. From French art to 1960s dresses, there is something to look at for everyone.
You will be guided through the vast amount of stalls and shops by an experienced guide, which means you don’t have to worry about navigating through the large area on your own. Get an insight into the longstanding history of the market and meet some of the sellers, some of whom have been coming here for decades.
The guide will tailor the walk according to the group’s interests. You will get a map displaying the different markets, and your guide will inform you of the ones you might find most interesting depending on your taste. Your guide will also have some great shopping tips to share: how to tell an authentic from a copy and how to negotiate a price that both you and the seller are happy with.
On occasion, the guide will interview some of the vendors and shed light on what it’s like working at the markets. This is an eye-opening experience unlike any other and you might just come away with the purchase of a lifetime!
Meet your guide outside metro station Porte de Clignancourt (line 4) at street level, outside McDonald’s. They will be wearing a bright fuchsia pink vest.
This tour will introduce you to the world’s largest flea market, officially called Les Puces de Saint-Ouen. You will visit several markets; the eclectic Vernaison, high-end Biron or hip Serpette, depending on what the group wants to see. Each market is different from the next in products, styles and prices. The group size of the tour is kept small so you will have the chance to interact with your guide. Whether it's French chandeliers, 1920s costume jewellery or a vintage Vuitton purse you’re looking for, your guide will point you in the right direction.
As you walk along your guide will share with you the history of the market, dating back 150 years. Browse the antiques, meet the sellers and make great finds.
The tour ends at the heart of the Serpette market, next to the eateries. You are then free to spend the rest of your day as you please: linger a moment in the market, grab lunch or catch a bus back to your accommodation.
No need to print! If you are travelling with a smartphone or tablet you can present your voucher on your device for this activity.
Please call the activity operator at least 48 hours prior to the start of the tour to reconfirm the departure details.
