Explore one of New Orleans’ most storied and wealthy neighborhoods on a New Orleans Garden District & Lafayette cemetery #1 Tour!
Follow your professional tour guide as you walk around the famed Garden District! See the home of Anne Rice, author of Interview with a Vampire and other acclaimed novels. Then, stop by the houses of Sandra Bullock and John Goodman, who both fell in love with the beautiful Garden District. You also get to see the house featured in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, as well as the Buckner Mansion from American Horror Story. Because of all of these famous homes, the New Orleans Garden District Tour is one of the most popular things to do in New Orleans!
Then, meander through New Orleans’ oldest city-owned cemetery! Make sure you see the tomb of Judge Ferguson, defendant in the famous U.S. Supreme Court Case Plessy v. Ferguson. This case led to the infamous “separate but equal” laws that continually propped up racial segregation in the country. You can also see the tombs of the Brunies, a family famous for its jazz musicians! You’ll also get to learn about the particular burial practices and customs in New Orleans that arose out of its unique climate.
If you have an interest in New Orleans’ upper crust, then the New Orleans Garden District & Lafayette Cemetery #1 Tour is what to do in New Orleans!
