Embark on a 7-day historical and archaeological tour across Mexico, covering famous Aztec and Mayan sites, along with guided tours and more.

Set out on a history and sightseeing tour in Mexico and explore Mayan ruins at the archaeological site of Chichen Itza. Scale up the Pyramid of Kukulkan at the archaeological zone of El Castillo in Chichen Itza. The pyramid represents a Mayan calendar made in stone with carvings of the plumed serpent (Kukulkan) on its stairways.

Make your excursion more interesting with a trip to the ancient Pyramids of Teotihuacan. Considered a place of great energy, you’ll see people meditating on the top of the Pyramid of the Sun and Pyramid of the Moon. You will also be visiting the world famous Anthropology Museum, Metropolitan Cathedra, the National Palace in Mexico City and the White City of Merida.


  • Day 1

    Arrive at the Mexico City International airport and you will be transferred in coach to your hotel. You are at leisure for the rest of the day. Flight arrival must be between 08:00am and 8:00pm. For flights outside these times, there will be an additional cost.
  • Day 2

    In the morning, accompanied by an English-speaking guide / driver, you will be taken on a tour of the historical center of Mexico City with a visit to The Zocalo, a massive concrete area signed with a giant flag. Inside the underground Zocalo station, you’ll see historical reproductions of the Square, exhibits of ceremonial offerings and stone statues of goddesses among others. Continue to the Metropolitan Cathedral which represents a synthesis of art forms in New Spain. The church has a baroque and neo classical façade, its Altar of Forgiveness, the sacristy, and the Altar of Kings are worth looking out for! Proceed to the National Palace and you’ll see patios, corridors and stairways adorned with impressive murals by Diego Rivera depicting the history of Mexico.Visit the ruins of the Templo Mayor (panoramic visit) , one of the most famous Aztec temples in their ancient capital city of Tenochtitlan, believed to be located on the exact spot where the Aztecs saw the eagle perching on a cactus with a snake in its beak. This symbolized for the Aztecs that they had reached their promised land. Next, we drive down the beautiful Paseo de la Reforma Avenue to arrive at Chapultepec Park. In pre-Hispanic times a summer residence for the noble class of the Aztecs, now it is Mexico City’s largest park and one of the largest city parks in the world. Visit the Anthropology Museum ,(Closed on Monday) one of the world’s 10 best museums and take a guided tour to learn about the pre-Hispanic history of Meso-America. Return to your hotel in the evening and spend the night.
  • Day 3

    In the morning, set out on a guided excursion to famous Teotihuacan Pyramids, one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. It was a place where sacrifices were made to the god, often in correlation with astronomical events. You can even climb to the top of the Pyramid of the Sun (third largest in the world) and the Pyramid of the Moon. Visit the Citadel, a large open space surrounded by temples and the Temple of Quetzalcoatl (the feathered serpent) decorated with sculptures of serpent’s head, snails, shells and symbols of water. Return to your hotel and spend the night.On the way back to the hotel, make a stop at the Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe, a pilgrimage place for millions of Mexicans and people from all around the world. 
  • Day 4

    Spend the day at leisure. Spend your day shoppin or exploring on your own. You can make a trip through the colorful canals of Xochimilco on a traditional "trajinera" or visit “La Casa Azul de Frida Kahlo” in Coyoacan, a beautiful and quaint district with colonial architecture and the atmosphere of a small village. Many more options are available. 
  • Day 5

    In the morning, you will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Merida. On arrival, reception and transfer to your Hotel. You must arrive before 1am. (For flights outside these times, there will be supplementary costs).  Set out on a guided tour of the ‘White City’ of Merida (capital of Yucatan) and explore works of Spanish and European architecture. The Mayan city of Merida has narrow streets, colonial buildings, and art and culture centres. On the 2-hour panoramic tour of the city, drive through its main avenue Paseo de Montejo, which has some beautiful Colonial buildings, like the Palace and Canton, an authentic National Monument. Spend the night at your hotel.
  • Day 6

    In the morning, take an excursion to the Mayan archaeological site of Uxmal, covered with brilliant, well preserved structures made of pink-coloured limestone. Its architecture is considered one of the masterpieces of the old civilization. Then, proceed to the archaeological site of Kabah. Visit the Palace of Masks that has nearly 300 masks of Chac-Mool (the rain god or sky serpent). You will also come across two restored atlantes, a male figure used as a supporting column, it is the most interesting three-dimensional human figure in a Mayan site. You have the evening to enjoy and explore Merida on your own.Spend the night at your hotel.
  • Day 7

    Set out on an excursion to Chichen Itza, one of the largest and best-maintained Mayan sites in Mexico. You will be taken on a tour of the archaeological zone of El Castillo also known as the Pyramid of Kukulkan. The pyramid is actually the Mayan calendar made in stone with the feathered serpent carved along the stairways. Visit the ball court flanked by temples and high walls. You’ll come across carvings that show players with padding on their elbows and knees and players wielding bats. Explore the Temple of the Warriors complex that consists of a large stepped pyramid flanked by rows of carved columns depicting warriors and the Nunnery. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, head to Cancun for a three and half hours bus ride. You will transferred to a hotel in Cancun (accommodation cost is not included). From here, you can proceed to your onward destination. For drop off at a hotel in Riviera Maya, there will be an additional coast.
