Make your excursion more interesting with a trip to the ancient Pyramids of Teotihuacan. Considered a place of great energy, you’ll see people meditating on the top of the Pyramid of the Sun and Pyramid of the Moon.

Arrive at the Mexico City International airport and you will be transferred in coach to your hotel. You are at leisure for the rest of the day.
In the morning, accompanied by an English-speaking guide / driver, you will be taken on a tour of the historical center of Mexico City with a visit to The Zocalo, a massive concrete area signed with a giant flag. Inside the underground Zocalo station, you’ll see historical reproductions of the Square, exhibits of ceremonial offerings and stone statues of goddesses among others.
Continue to the Metropolitan Cathedral which represents a synthesis of art forms in New Spain. The church has a baroque and neo classical façade, its Altar of Forgiveness, the sacristy, and the Altar of Kings are worth looking out for! Proceed to the National Palace and you’ll see patios, corridors and stairways adorned with impressive murals by Diego Rivera depicting the history of Mexico.
Visit the Anthropology Museum ,(Closed on Monday) one of the world’s 10 best museums and take a guided tour to learn about the pre-Hispanic history of Meso-America. Return to your hotel in the evening and spend the night.
In the morning, set out on a guided excursion to the Guadalupe Shrine and to the famous Teotihuacan Pyramids, one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. It was a place where sacrifices were made to the god, often in correlation with astronomical events. You can even climb to the top of the Pyramid of the Sun (third largest in the world) and the Pyramid of the Moon. Visit the Citadel, a large open space surrounded by temples and the Temple of Quetzalcoatl (the feathered serpent) decorated with sculptures of serpent’s head, snails, shells and symbols of water. Return to your hotel and spend the night.
Spend the day at leisure. You could take a guided excursion to Cuernavaca, the city of eternal spring and Taxco, the silver city (at your own cost). Cuernavaca is a colonial city popular for the Palacio de Cortes , an imposing medieval-style fortress and pre-Hispanic sites.
Taxco is a quaint silver-mining town nestled on a steep hillside and has narrow cobblestone streets lined with well preserved colonial buildings. It is a great place to bargain for some fine silver jewellery. Spend the night at your hotel in Mexico City.
In the morning, you will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Merida. On arrival, reception and transfer to your Hotel.
Set out on a guided tour of the ‘White City’ of Merida (capital of Yucatan) and explore works of Spanish and European architecture. The Mayan city of Merida has narrow streets, colonial buildings, and art and culture centres.
Proceed to the Zocalo, a square ringed with souvenir shops, shade trees and park benches. Further on, visit the Cathedral, one of the oldest in the American continent, built of huge stones dismantled from the pyramids. Spend the night at your hotel.
In the morning, take an excursion to the Mayan archaeological site of Uxmal, covered with brilliant, well preserved structures made of pink-coloured limestone. Its architecture is considered one of the masterpieces of the old civilization.
Then, proceed to the archaeological site of Kabah. Visit the Palace of Masks that has nearly 300 masks of Chac-Mool (the rain god or sky serpent). You will also come across two restored atlantes, a male figure used as a supporting column, it is the most interesting three-dimensional human figure in a Mayan site. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, return to Merida and spend the night at your hotel.
Set out on an excursion to Chichen Itza, one of the largest and best-maintained Mayan sites in Mexico. You will be taken on a tour of the archaeological zone of El Castillo also known as the Pyramid of Kukulkan. The pyramid is actually the Mayan calendar made in stone with the feathered serpent carved along the stairways. Visit the ball court flanked by temples and high walls. You’ll come across carvings that show players with padding on their elbows and knees and players wielding bats. Explore the Temple of the Warriors complex that consists of a large stepped pyramid flanked by rows of carved columns depicting warriors and the Nunnery. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, head to Cancun for a three and half hours bus ride. You will transferred to a hotel in Cancun (accommodation cost is not included). From here, you can proceed to your onward destination.
