Overview

On this tour you will be able to discover the first urban city in Mesoamerica before the Spanish invasion, the Arqueologic Zone of Teotihuacan. On arrival, you will first be given a demonstration of the ancient process of making pulque, a traditional alcoholic drink in Mexico. Thick, slightly sweet and milky, it is brewed from the juice of the agave plant, or maguey, and it's roughly as strong as beer. It was the sacred drink of the Aztecs. You will enjoy a tasting of pulque and an opportunity to visit the arts and crafts center where local obsidian and jade are fashioned into jewelry, game boards and decorative items and on top of that: native clothing.

The tour guide will then lead you into the area of the Pyramids where you will be able to explor sites like the Temples of the Sun and Moon, the Temple of Quetzalcóatl, the Avenue of the Dead, the Ciudadela comprised of plazas and temples and the Palaces of Tetitla, Atetelco, and Quetzalpapálotl. You will have free time to explore the arqueologic zone, buy souvenirs and have lunch. When all is said and done, you'll be told the time you have to be at Exit #1 and you'll head back to Mexico City.
