The tour ends at the original point of departure.
Nestling at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and arguably the finest example of Arab architecture in the whole of Spain; the palace and its gardens were built as a re-creation of ‘heaven on earth’, with cool patios, fountains and intricate carvings still clear as when it was first built.
The Alhambra is composed of three parts: the Royal Palace, the Gardens of Generalife and the fortress of Alcazaba. The Royal Palace is the most famous; it consists of the Mexuar – enclosing the striking Golden Room - where the sultans conducted every day business. The inspiration for the gardens of Generalife is supposed to be the Koranic description of Paradise.
A tour of Alhambra Palace is a must-do for all visitors to Spain.
You will be picked up in a deluxe air-conditioned motorcoach from your hotel. Accompanied by a multi-lingual guide, you will be taken on a guided tour of the Alhambra Palace in Granada.
You will be dropped-off in the town centre and given maps so that you can make your way to the Cathedral and shops. You have free time until 1:15pm in the town centre for lunch (Not included in the tour cost, can be bought on the day) and sightseeing.
At 2:00pm, take a 2 hour guided tour of the Alhambra Palace and Generalife Gardens. The tour gives you the opportunity to take photographs of the delicate carvings and stunning decorations reflected in the water features found around every corner.
The local guide will transcend you to the magical world of Arabian Nights. Take in the scent of plants and the sounds of trickling water in the cool oasis of the gardens, which makes for great photos with the Sierra Nevada Mountains as a backdrop.
This tour is a treat for garden lovers; the designs are fantastic and the symmetrical Arabic features have been copied around the world.
You have the option to explore the city centre at leisure, where you may choose to visit the impressive Cathedral and Royal Chapel, browse the stalls in the spice market, or simply stroll around the main shopping centre.
Depart from Granada at around 4:30pm with a stop en route for coffee.
The tour ends at the starting point between 7:00pm – 8:00pm.
