Dodge the long queues and visit the official residence of the Spanish Royal family, also called the Palacio de Oriente. What you will see of the Royal Palace today is a result of successive changes since 1734 when a fire burnt the old fortress on the same site and Philip V ordered the construction of a present building.
Accompanied by an expert guide, listen to the interesting stories and turn of events that shaped the palace’s history as you tour the interiors of the palace like the main staircase, Alabarderos auditorium, the Columns room, the Throne room, the Streetcar of Charles III, the Porcelain Room, Party Dinner Room, Medals Room, Silver Museum, Musical Instruments and Royal Porcelain, Royal Chapel, Charles III and Isabel II bedrooms among others.
The palace also has an exquisite collection of tapestries, porcelain, antique clocks, armour, and works of art by eminent Spanish artists like Goya and Velázquez. What is specifically fascinating is the Palatine Stradivarius collection of musical instruments and the two neo-classical fountains in the 19th-century English-style gardens.
Voucher information: You can show your voucher on your smartphone (But if you’d rather print a copy – that’s fine too!)
We kindly remind you that the Royal Palace has the right to close due to an official event.
