The Imperial city of Toledo – A World Heritage city - seems to be one large museum. Hardly any other town is so well conserved in its historical style. The best way to explore Toledo is to take a long walk through it and look at the buildings of various epochs.
Just 70 kilometres from Madrid, the ‘Imperial Toledo’ is a city encircled by the River Tagus and home to three different cultures – Christian, Moorish and Jewish – that coexisted together for centuries. Their influences have left many architectural and artistic reminders all over the city.
