Tour returns to your original point of departure
The Imperial city of Toledo – A World Heritage city - seems to be one large museum. Hardly any other town is so well conserved in its historical style. The best way to explore Toledo is to take a long walk through it and look at the buildings of various epochs.
Just 70 kilometres from Madrid, the ‘Imperial Toledo’ is a city encircled by the River Tagus and home to three different cultures – Christian, Moorish and Jewish – that coexisted together for centuries. Their influences have left many architectural and artistic reminders all over the city.
What's the plan:
You will be picked up from designated meeting point. Accompanied by a multi-lingual guide, you will travel by deluxe air-conditioned coach to the imperial city of Toledo.
Enjoy the scenic views on the way to the city. Follow your local guide on a walking tour of the Historic City of Toledo, World Heritage City since 1986. Once Spain’s capital, Toledo is the perfect amalgamation of Arab, Jewish and Christian cultures. Learn about its rich heritage and see how the coexistence of cultures through the centuries influenced its current architectural style.
Enjoy a guided tour of the Cathedral of Toledo. Discover one of the city’s oldest monuments, head straight into the church with your guide, and dive into its rich history. See the jewels, the custody used in Corpus Christi, the choir, and the museum, which features some of the best paintings of El Greco.
Then, you will have free time to explore Toledo on your own before returning to Madrid.
