Enjoy a wet, rough and tumble ride on a rafting adventure in Kota Kinabulu along the Kiulu River. Kiulu Village is worth a trip just for its lovely rural scenes and the river offers the best spot for white water rafting.
The Kiulu River provides a Grade Il to IIl experience and is suitable for newcomers to rafting. Grade Il reaches have moving water with a few riffles and small waves. There are few or no obstructions. Grade IIl sections give you easy rapids with waves up to 3 feet (1m) high and wide, clear channels that are obvious without scouting. Some maneuvering will be required.
On arriving at the river bank, you will meet your rafting guide and receive a briefing on safety procedures. After wearing your safety helmet and life-jacket, you will begin your rafting adventure. The farthest distance you can cover is 15km if the water level is high and 8km if the rafting is at normal water level.
The rafting will definitely kick in hunger pangs. While you relax by the riverside, you will be served a BBQ lunch.

The confirmation voucher includes the local activity operator’s contact details. They’re a nice bunch, and will happily answer any logistical questions you may have. Please give them a call at least 24 hours before your organized activity to reconfirm.
Voucher information: Sorry, but we will need you to print a paper version of your booking voucher (we're working on changing this).
At this time no refund can be given for customers without a printed copy of their voucher.
The water level at Kiulu River is currently at a low level due to lack of rainfall. As such, the flow of your rafting activities may be at times interrupted as the raft may get stuck between obstacles.
Rafters must be physically fit, and it is not advisable to wear contact lenses during rafting.
Do not bring precious ornament along the trip.
What to bring: Insect repellent, swimwear, change of cloth. Towel, short to change. Sun lotion, waterproof camera, and hat
This activity is adults (and older children) only. Little ones under the age of 5 years will have to sit this one out, we’re afraid.
