Begin this exciting day by assembling at Kowloon Hotel, where your friendly guide will be waiting to transfer you to a Star Ferry for a ride across Victoria Harbour, one of the world’s most photographed harbours in the world. Travelling between Victoria Harbour and Kowloon since 1888, this charming ferry continues to be a favorite amongst locals. Follow your guide next to the Pottinger Street or the Stone Slab Street named after its uneven pavement of granite stone steps that eases the daily commute for visitors and merchant bearers. Go further to enjoy another fun ride on the Central-Mid-Levels Escalator, a method of transport which is unique to Hong Kong Island because of its steep and hilly landscape. Covering a length of 800 metres, it is the longest outdoor covered escalator system in the world! Feel free to walk while the escalator moves to shorten your trip! Get aboard Ding Ding tram, the world’s largest operating double-decker tram fleet that has been serving Hong Kong since the 1904’s. One of the most affordable way to get around for the locals, enjoy riding on this traditional means of conveyance while passing through the city’s most colourful suburbs. Learn about Hong Kong’s culture by witnessing one of its most quirky Cantonese folk ritual called the ‘Petty Person Beating’ ceremony or Da Siu Yan. Watch professional old ladies perform this ancient ritual to dispel an evil person out of their devotee’s life. Your guide will then take you to Wah Fu Estates, one of the city's oldest public housing projects that has been recently renovated in 2003. Explore this estate, built on a new town concept in 1967 that once served as an icon of low-cost living. Take a lunch break with a delicious Hong Kong style meal, followed by a one-of-a-kind riding experience on a local walla-walla – a motorized sampan boat. Tour the city’s historic typhoon shelter in Aberdeen as you pass by the traditional junk boats and observe the life of the local fishing community closely. Your tour will end with a drop back to Kowloon Hotel.
