  • Overview & Itinerary

Discover Hong Kong’s roots with this leisure tour of Lamma Island, where the traditions and lifestyle of this metropolis is still well-preserved. Offering a unique escape to tourists, this place is home to a relaxed multicultural community, integrated into a traditional fishing village. Check out places that are integral to the history and culture of Lamma like Tin Hau Temple and Kamikaze Cave. Enjoy admission to Fisherfolk’s Village to learn, play, and have fisherfolk's snack. Visit the Hong Kong Maritime Museum and cruise along the Victoria Harbour on a traditional DukLing junk, Hong Kong’s only remaining classic sailing boat.

This tour includes professional guide services and roundtrip ferry transfers between Central and Sok Kwu Wan.

Start this tour by assembling at Central Pier 4. Meet and greet your professional guide who will help you board a ferry to Sok Kwu Wan, Lamma Island. Sit back and relax during this half an hour ride before you reach the laid-back Lamma Island, a traditional fishing village with a multicultural vibe.

Get off the ferry and take a leisurely short walk to Tin Hau Temple, devoted to Tun Hau, Goddess of the Sea. While this temple is a common place of worship in the Chinese fishing communities throughout Asia, this one shows distinctive architectural nuances of the East-meets West culture. Next, take the family trail walk to reach Kamikaze Cave that was built by the occupying Japanese forces to keep motorboats loaded with explosives to disrupt Allied shipping during WWII.

Your next destination – Fisherfolk’s Village gives you a peek into the history of fishing industry on the island. To maintain authenticity, the elderly fishermen and Lamma natives have vowed to preserve the traditional fishing methods of the island and Honk Kong. Learn and experience the fishermen’s lifestyle and enjoy fisherfolk’s snack. You may even try your hand at catching a large fish, angling and hauling on fishing nets and weaving ropes.

Continue this journey by taking a ferry back to the Central to visit the Hong Kong Maritime Museum. Enjoy great exhibits, dedicated to Hong Kong’s naval and shipbuilding industry. Discover interesting maritime facts and understand the city’s seafaring story in its local, regional and international contexts.

Finally, get onboard an authentic DukLing junk boat for a cruise through Hong Kong’s picturesque harbour. Enjoy the calming sail with a complimentary drink and marvel at the panoramic view of the magnificent city skyline across Victoria Harbour! Take memorable pictures against the skyscraping cityscape after getting off the cruise.

Your tour ends at the pier.
