The limestone landscape of Pu Luong Nature Reserve offers the best treks in Vietnam with its remote villages, rolling rice fields and untamed rainforests. Enjoy three days of rustic charm and biodiversity of the Pu Luong on this tour from Hanoi. Stay in homestays and enjoy home-cooked traditional meals. Take in the unique flora and fauna and learn about local cultures and tribes that are thriving in this region.
Depart from Hanoi to Mai Chau in a private vehicle and drive past lush green countryside before stopping at a typical Thai village, Pom Coong for a traditional Thai lunch. After lunch, take a walk to the villages inhabited by minority White Thai tribe. Listen to the gurgling streams used for the irrigation of the rolling rice fields as you stroll down to Lac Village.
After your walk, head back to your bus around 2pm to reach Pu Luong Nature Reserve. En route, enjoy picturesque views of limestone mountain forests and the vast expanse of rice fields. Upon your arrival at the reserve, you will check in to a homestay in Don Village and around 5pm head out for a trek through the rice fields.
Take in the bucolic landscape and learn about the unique flora and fauna of the region from the guide who will lead the hike. Though it may take some effort walking up to the hills, but once you reach the top, the views of the surroundings will mesmerize you.
After the hike, head back to your homestay and enjoy a lovely home-cooked dinner before you relax and get set for the next day.
After breakfast, spend some leisure time exploring the village of Huou on your own.
You will check out from your homestay at 9:30am and board your bus to Hanoi. On the way, you will stop at a water wheel that feeds water to the rice fields. Enjoy a quick swim or take photographs with the picture-postcard landscape in the backdrop. The bus will also halt at a local restaurant for lunch.
Upon your arrival in Hanoi at around 4:30pm, your tour will conclude at the local operator’s office at 64 Hang Quat, from where you have to make your own arrangements to your accommodation.
