Make your way to the Daryia Daulat Bagh
Same as starting point
Daria Daulat Bagh translating quite literally to 'Garden of the Sea of Wealth' is a teak-wood palace situated in the city of Srirangapatna. It bears an Indo-Islamic style architecture that rests on a five feet high raised platform. The rectangular palace is made of teak-wood with open corridors housing wooden pillars on the edge of the platform.
The walls are decorated with brilliant frescos portraying Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan in a battlefield along with other Mysore paintings. There are adorable pigeon houses – one on each side of the entrance. The gardens enclosing the palace are taken care of by the officials now. The four staircases, built in the four partition walls separate the audience hall into four rooms at four corners with a main hall linking the eastern and the western hall.
The famous oil painting ‘Storming of Srirangapattanam’ by Sir Robert Ker Porter completed in the year 1800, depicting the fall of Srirangapatana on 4th May 1799, can also be found in this museum
