Overview

Leave for Montserrat at the early hours of the morning and enjoy a guided visit to the monastic centre of Catalonia, home to the famous Black Virgin and la Escolania (the oldest children's boy choir in Europe). See the unique natural environment of the natural park of Mount Montserrat with its singular rock formations and enjoy stupendous views of the Pyrenees. The popular imagination has seen human and animal shapes in some of these peaks, giving them names and inventing legends to explain their fantastic origins.

You have two tour options to choose from:

 Montserrat Express Tour: includes the transportation from Barcelona to Montserrat and a panoramic guided visit

Montserrat Tour: includes transportation from Barcelona to Montserrat, tickets, guided visit and liquors tasting

When you arrive, you will enjoy a tour of Montserrat, during which your guide will point out the main places of interest. You will see the Benedictine monastery, nearly 1000 years old, perched half way up the mountain and sheltered by its peaks. You will also see the basilica with the Chapel of Our Lady of Montserrat. Known as La Moreneta, or the Black Virgin, she is the patron saint of Catalonia, and is a presence strongly felt and revered. The basilica is full of the most beautiful paintings, gold lamps and decorated chapels.

There is also the opportunity to visit the fascinating Museum of Montserrat, with its five collections ranging from Archaeology from the Biblical East to Modern Paintings and Sculptures.

Enjoy exquisite drinks prepared in the monastery and watch an audio-visual presentation about life within the monastery walls.
